The conservation and restoration of this traditional mansion was undertaken by architect Eva Konstantinou. The building is a historic property that had remained unused for many years, located in the heart of old Nicosia.
The design incorporated all requirements concerning construction materials, methods, and specialised finishes, with the objective of preserving and highlighting the building’s traditional character. The entire study was carried out with deep respect for the original structure, aiming to retain its authenticity to the greatest possible extent.
The additions introduced follow contemporary construction methods and materials; however, they were implemented in a recognisable and reversible manner, ensuring they remain distinguishable from the traditional fabric without altering its integrity. Their design is based on clean, simple lines, reinforcing the monument’s timeless character.
